Boost your plant's growth with Garland's Plant Halos. Made from recycled, UV stabilised plastic, the Plants Halos offer a complete watering and support system for your favourite crops, including beans, tomatoes and peppers. They are also recyclable.
The halos can be used in the ground, raised beds, grow bags or pots with a diameter of 26cm or more. They feature an inner pot which creates a deep planting area, and an outer 'moat' that acts a reservoir. The extra planting depth and the ability to water easily around the plant is particularly useful for grow bags and for plants like tomatoes as it helps keep them healthy by preventing disease.
They are easy to use too. Simply push one into the ground, grow bag or pot that you wish you grow your plant in, ensuring that the spikes are inserted into the soil. Then add soil to the central planting area to fill it up and allow the plant to grow through the halo. Water and liquid feed can then be added to the 3.1 litre outer reservoir, where the six 2.8cm watering spikes underneath will deliver it directly to the plant's roots. This allows the water and liquid fertiliser to be dispersed at a reduced rate, maximising absorption and preventing waste. The reservoir takes around 3-6 hours to fully drain, depending on weather and soil conditions.
The plant halos contain a cane support system too. The inner planting area is surrounded by 3 anchor slots that bamboo canes can be inserted into for a rigid, wind resistant plant support structure. It also includes a 4 cane grip cap for canes to be joined at the top of the structure - simply pop it out of the main moulding before use. This makes it great for use in allotments or in vegetable gardens where plants can't be monitored frequently.
